There will always be haters…

The older I get the more I realize that life doesn’t change much after high school.   I mean, we get older, we get married, and buy houses, and we realize that there is so much more than getting crowned homecoming queen.  Yet sometimes… it still feels like I am walking down that fluorescent lit...

Love it Karen and love PS!! This post is so true and I admit i’m still learning to let go and let God I tend to worry and i hate that part of me that has bitterness or jealousy at times it’s a HARD industry thankfully worth it!

Randa - January 18, 2012 - 2:39 PM

Very well written and said! I surround myself with people who have the same mindset as you! Keep it up!

Erin Oveis Brant - January 18, 2012 - 2:18 PM

Your words really resonate with me today. “What they meant for destruction God used for instruction.”

I have no idea about the exact circumstances that brought you to write this, but it is clear that what they meant for destruction YOU have used for instruction. That is a beautiful and powerful thing! Keep collecting those rocks and keep building <3

Tammy - January 18, 2012 - 11:00 AM

Jennifer - January 18, 2012 - 10:40 AM

Good. For. You. Karen! Beautifully written and I love the verse you chose for this post. Its so hard when you are a people please to deal with persons who can be so harsh. I too, am learnning to deal with this and it’s no easy task. I think you, and I, will find we can give that energy to our family and be not only a better person but a better Mother too. j

Love this post friend….something I know us people pleasers deal with often and sadly enough a feeling that can be appropriate at any stage of this business we all love! Love you for your accomplishments and your heart – proud of you for all you’ve done and thank you for sharing your heart and your successes! Um, and cannot wait to see you next month!!!!!

Faith Cherisse - January 18, 2012 - 7:13 AM

Stacy childers - January 18, 2012 - 3:35 AM

Well Said!

I have had more than my share of haters in this life along with some seriously vicious gossip ( flat out lies) that has brought me to my knees on more than one occasion. It can be heartbreaking when you are in the midst of it and always seemed to go hand it hand with great success.

Love them and pray for them ..that is the only way through it! Love until it hurts and then Love some more. Someone once told me ” People that hate are people that hurt” and I believe it to be true. Love them the best you can knowing that and remember if they weren’t hating on you they would be hating on someone else.

In the end I made the wise choice of stepping out of the circle and allowing it to shift and did it ever!!! No more sleepless nights sobbing in my pillow worrying about what was being said and who was believing it. I let God fight the battle and moved on. Best decision of my life. <3

Kelly - January 17, 2012 - 11:56 PM

Karen, thank you for posting this. I am a people pleaser too and have had to learn to let go and let God. I agree to cherish the friends that are there and stick. Thanks my friend. <3 Kelly

living the life “I” am meant for…

If you’ve been around here long you know I’m a little crazy emphatically in love with balance. You know that place in life were you’ve found your groove…. all of your socks are in the right drawer and you don’t go too long without calling your mom. That place. The comfy jammy dates at home...

Motivational Monday ~ Setting the fear aside

It was around this time last week that it hit me… I had been asked to do something far bigger than me and the panic was setting in.  Fly away?  Leave my family behind?  Speak in front of people?  I could feel my hands getting sweaty and my knees getting weak.  Are you sure Lord?...

Karen-
I’m so glad you have heard GOD’s words and you are listening. This is something I have struggled with for a very long time. I was presented with an opprotunity to speak infront of my peers during youth group one night when I was about 16. I felt my heart pound out of my chest everything got blurry around me & then a warmth came over me, and I questioned wether it was GOD urging me to speak. Unfortanetly I questioned to long, and I lost my opprotunity, and it is something I beat myself up about still to this day. I know it was HIM, I knew it was HIM but fear took over. I think it is such a wonderful thing that you are challenging your fear, trusting GOD to give you the strength and the words, and taking the opprotunity. You are amazing and you will rock it! Thanks for sharing this.

Brittany Schlamp - April 26, 2011 - 5:34 PM

Oh my. I had just posted my blog post. And then I felt the Spirit telling me to read this. I had seen you facebook it. And I’m glad I read it. Because I know EXACTLY how you feel. And honestly, I’m grateful that you posted this, because I don’t know what I’ll be doing in just a few weeks when I have my own workshop. Eek. Karen, you’re amazing, and I know you’ll DO GREAT! :)

Sarah DeShaw - April 26, 2011 - 8:06 AM

Karen I have had an opportunity to teach a workshop in Chicago and I have totally delayed planning it because of the feelings like exactly what you are saying! Thanks for the encouragement! Bless you today!

Nancy Mitchell - April 26, 2011 - 5:57 AM

You are amazing Karen and I look forward seeing what GOD has planned for you. Keep up the GREAT work and continue to inspire others!

Ashley Terry - April 25, 2011 - 8:15 PM

This is beautiful, Karen! I’ve been going through the same doubts and fears lately. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend Believing God, by Beth Moore. It speaks to these exact challenges. Keep being brave–you’re an inspiration to all of us!

Janice - April 25, 2011 - 6:58 PM

Ooo; this gives me goose bumps – the good kind! Bless you for stepping out when stepping back would be easier in the short run. I can’t wait to see the blessings heaped out for your obedience and faith!

Jessica Frey - April 25, 2011 - 6:38 PM

Love you Karen! What a great post….truly so proud of you! I know we’ve only known each other for a short period of time, but I know you’ve been placed in my life and the lives of these other women for a purpose! Keep up the hard work and know that we all appreciate you and are cheering you on!! HUGS!!

Kimberly - April 25, 2011 - 4:23 PM

I absolutely LOVE what stuff like this happens. Such a wake up call to our hearts. God is so good and He’s got you every step of the way. <3 love!

Aimee Desiree - April 25, 2011 - 3:36 PM

Lovely post! Did you ever feel kind of silly when you started with all this…like, “really? what am I thiiiinking?” I’ve been procrastinating on practicing with my camera by taking all of these online tutorials and reading up on FAQ’s. It’s like when I have a 25 page research paper to write and I just research and research. You know, it totally counts ;) But I put down my computer and spent time shooting around the neighborhood. I was working on a house down the street. It’s beautiful and unique with a plaque designating it as a historical home. And guess who walked out to get the mail while I am on my knees in his front yard to get just the right angle? The owner. My neighbor. Who will surely see me time and again when I walk my dog around. Luckily, he seemed used to it and told me to send one in to the local paper – ha!

Elizabeth Ann King - April 25, 2011 - 3:06 PM

Amazing. I love you.

Feuza - April 25, 2011 - 2:55 PM

powerful words and I can so relate with the fear factor, I am so happy for all the blessings that is to come to you because of your generous heart, xoxo

Charity - April 25, 2011 - 2:52 PM

Love it! Don’t you love it when God does that to us? You are very capable and talented to do exactly what you’re doing! Do not forget that!
