As I sit here beginning to write about my experience at A Walk Through A Wedding on Wednesday, I am almost at a loss for words. For once, Speechless. This is a rarity with me but I literally do not have words to describe the awesomeness that is Justin & Mary. Justin repeatedly blew my mind with his near encyclopedic brain… and Mary…..Oh. My. Word…. her calm confidence radiated and gave me something more to strive for.
One of the things I loved most was their ability to speak to so many levels of photographers. For realsies….(yes I make up my own vocabulary)….. if you are a wedding photographer of ANY level, or strive to be one, you have got to make it a priority to attend one of their workshops.
Seattle’s Walk through a Wedding theme was Water for Elephants based on the book and recent movie. SWOON! Seriously this was epic-ly styled and carried out with perfection. The details made me a little crazy in love and I seriously COULD NOT stop taking pictures…it was addicting.
I have been shooting weddings for five years now. I absolutely love what I do and to be honest, I felt pretty confident in my work. However, I have always been a firm believer in continuing education. I never, EVER want to feel like I’ve arrived and achieved all that I can in anything in life, including photography. So when I found out that Justin & Mary were going to be in Seattle this week, I signed up immediately. And seriously, I think it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my business, and myself, to date. I learned SOOOOO much. More than I ever, EVER thought was possible in 14 hours. Justin & Mary’s approach to the wedding day, why we do what we do and the way they look for light was captivating. I was challenged, intrigued, encouraged and inspired in more ways than I could’ve imagined. I am full. Excited. Inspired and flipping THRILLED for this years weddings!!!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Justin, Mary & Julia for everything that you did to make this happen. It was life changing for me, and I know in years to come I will look back on that day as a pivotal marker in my business.
xoxo,
Karen
